In a world filled with so many things that can be upsetting, we actually have a choice, to decide what we allow to let interfere with or control our happiness. Being happy is a state of mind which only we can control. No one makes us happy, nor does anything make us happy, we choose to be happy about people and things.


We have to get out of our own way and decide that happiness isn't brought upon us by anything else, besides ourselves.

Knowing that happiness is a choice is only the beginning, after that it's about putting in the effort to find and maintain happiness. Here are 5 ways to deliberately choose happiness within your life.


1. Speak Positively over your life


We have to learn that we manifest the things we receive in life, as a result of how we speak to ourselves and about ourselves. I recommend listening to and repeating affirmations daily, telling yourself how blessed you are, how bright your future is, etc.., will only allow yourself to believe it, and act as such.


2. SMILE more


Smiling is good for your soul, it has an effect on your overall mood. Recent studies have shown that a person's mood is shaped around their facial expressions, our muscles in our face communicate with our brains. Plus Smiling makes you more approachable, so we can share good happy vibes with happy people and its FREE!!!


3. Practice Gratitude

Being happy for the blessings you have in life, should be easy, but not always, because we can sometimes take on the title of being "ungrateful" because we are so used to the things we have. When you sit back and actually think about all the blessing you have, that will create an immediate feeling of happiness, and allowing ourselves to feel more secure about where we are in our lives.


4. Get better at things you're good at


Personal growth is always satisfying, and will always induce happiness. There is always room for improvement in everything we do. Focusing on being a better you at the things you are great with will on only open up the door to more happiness.


5. Self-Care


Nothing makes me happier than taking care of ME, taking the time out to show yourself some love, will have a huge effect on your happiness. Self-care is key to taking care of ourselves Mentally, physically and emotional. It minimizes stress, it plays a role in how you treat others, and how others will treat you.

Whenever you feel sad, down, or pissed off, remember its a choice, and we can always choose to be happy in any situation. I know that sometimes it's hard to choose happiness in certain situations, but we have to find benefits and lessons through our pain. We have to remember that life is short, so we have to make the best out of Today.
